Vodice’s history stretches back to Roman times, but it flourished as a fishing and trading port in the Middle Ages. The town’s name, meaning 'waters,' reflects the abundance of freshwater springs that sustained the community for centuries. Today Vodice keeps an authentic charm, with narrow stone streets, historic churches and a lively harbor filled with fishing boats and excursion vessels. The Ćorić Tower, known as Ćorić kula, is one of the historic landmarks, a fortified tower that recalls the town’s defensive past, and the Church of St. Elijah the Prophet and the Parish Church on the square of the Holy Cross add religious heritage.
