Basilica of Our Lady of Bistrica

The Basilica of Our Lady of Bistrica stands at the heart of Marija Bistrica, about 40 kilometers northeast of Zagreb. Recognized as Croatia’s most prominent Marian shrine, it draws pilgrims and visitors from across the country and beyond. The tradition of pilgrimage here dates back to July 16, 1684, when the statue of the Bistrica Mother of God was rediscovered.
