DUBoak, the Maritime Heritage Interpretation Center in Malinska, offers visitors an engaging look into the maritime traditions and natural environment of the Malinska-Dubašnica region. Located right on the Malinska waterfront, DUBoak is recognized for its modern and interactive exhibitions, which are divided into two main sections: the Dubašnica forest and traditional vessels. The center explores the historical relationship between local oak forests and the sea, highlighting how timber from the area was transported to Venice and used in shipbuilding, as well as the importance of sustainable forest management.

The name DUBoak itself is a blend of the Old Slavic word for oak (“dub”) and the English “oak,” symbolizing the deep-rooted connection between the land and maritime life. Exhibits include both indoor and outdoor displays, making it suitable for all weather conditions. Visitors can expect hands-on experiences and informative displays that appeal to both adults and children.

DUBoak is open daily from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with admission priced at €4 for adults, €3 for children (aged 7 and above) and seniors, €11 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children), and €3 per person for groups of 20 or more. Easily accessible by car, bus, or from Rijeka Airport just 15 km away, DUBoak is a must-visit for anyone interested in the maritime heritage and natural history of Krk Island.
